Good morning

I was just thinking the other day of how thankful I am that one of my boys is a morning person. Sounds crazy, right? No, I am not a morning person myself. But the fact that my 4-year-old starts the day with a smile and lots of energy actually makes my mornings a little easier. It puts a smile on my face when he walks, or sometimes runs, into the kitchen (dragging his blanket) and tries to see what I'm fixing or pulls me over to sit on the sofa with him. I love hearing his cheerful voice in the mornings, even if I can't recognize any words in the babble.

No, I don't like waking at 6 in the morning and forcing myself out of bed to fix breakfast and make lunches. But having someone in the house who greets the day with joy certainly sweetens my own day.

End of October

Wow. Life happens and time passes so quickly. I can't believe November is almost here.
We are getting close to the holiday season, so I expect our schedule to be full soon.

The boys are both doing well in school so far. PJ5 finally has a permanent teacher for his class, so he'll have some new things to get used to over the next few weeks. We got to meet her last night, and I really like her. (Hopefully, he will too!)

Four days until election. I can't wait to see what happens! Really, I think it's exciting that the people of this country have the opportunity to change the course of events in government. It is both a privilege and a responsibility. I wish more people saw it that way.

Some friends of ours are holding a black kitten for me. It's old enough for me to take it now, but I keep hesitating to go get it. I'm gone from the house often enough that I'm afraid it might get lonely. There's a second kitten that hasn't been taken by anyone yet, but hubby says "Only one cat!" Maybe I'm hesitating because deep down I don't want to get attached and then lose another pet. Hmm.

"Do you love me?"

"Then obey me."

That's pretty much what I just told PJ5. We are really struggling with him right now. Literally and figuratively. I'm so tired of fighting him.

The problem

Alright, here's the problem. I can carve out a few minutes here and there to blog. And I want to. But I find myself talking so much about autism, and I didn't intend for this blog to be about autism. And I find myself letting out frustration and complaints here, but I don't want this to a be a negative place.

I can't decide what to do. I've thought about changing the name of the blog and making it more about autism. Since autism is my life right now. Or I can just keep things as they are and try to make sure I balance every negative post with something else that's positive. What do you think? (all 5 of you readers, that is)

This reminds me of something that's been going through my head. When I was little my mom used to play/sing to me an old song---"First you say you do, and then you don't" Another phrase from the song is "you're undecided now--so what are you gonna do?" It's a peppy song, and was a friendly poke at my indecisiveness. I've been thinking about that song alot lately because it seems I am as indecisive as I ever was. *sigh*
